The Andros Vacation House is a 220 sqm private residential project designed by LC Architects on the Cycladic island of Andros, Greece. Commissioned as a bespoke holiday retreat, the design responds to the island's dramatic topography and the distinctive character of Cycladic architecture while introducing a contemporary spatial language.

LC Architects' concept draws upon the relationship between the built form and the Aegean landscape, creating a dwelling that appears to emerge organically from its hillside setting. The massing is composed of intersecting volumes that step with the natural terrain, offering panoramic views of the sea while providing shelter from the island's prevailing winds. Large openings frame specific views, transforming the surrounding landscape into an integral element of the interior experience.

The material palette reflects the traditions of Greek island architecture — white rendered walls, natural stone, and timber — reinterpreted through a contemporary design sensibility. Interior spaces flow seamlessly between living, dining, and sleeping areas, with outdoor terraces extending the living space into the landscape. The transition between interior and exterior is deliberately blurred, allowing residents to experience the Mediterranean climate throughout the home.

Sustainability is embedded within the design approach. Passive cooling strategies, natural ventilation, and the thermal mass of the stone construction reduce energy demand, while the building's orientation maximises winter solar gain and minimises summer overheating. The design demonstrates LC Architects' ability to create distinctive residential architecture that is deeply connected to its context.

The Andros Vacation House represents LC Architects' commitment to designing homes that celebrate their setting, combining the timeless qualities of Cycladic architecture with a forward-looking design philosophy rooted in environmental sensitivity and spatial innovation.
